Bij Inkart in Ruisbroek ( Puurs) is midden mei naar stilaan jaarlijkse gewoonte weer volop strijd geleverd voor de Voka Karting Cup. Bij de derde editie van dit originele teambuildingevent mocht Voka – KvK Mechelen-Kempen met vierentwintig aanwezige bedrijventeams een volle startgrid noteren. Na spannende kwalificatierondes werd het startsein gegeven voor een uithoudingsrace, waarbij uiteindelijk VSE TECHNOLOGIES de teams Vermant en Gregoir voor de overwinning op afstand konden houden.
Ambacht in de kijker is een nationale wedstrijd die kwaliteitsvolle ambachtslieden in de kijker zet, de ambachtelijke sector promoot bij het grote publiek, en jongeren warm maakt voor deze beroepen. In 2018 is dit project reeds aan zijn 13de editie toe.

VSE has been successfully realising ESAB ICE OP welding process projects (submerged arc welding) for some time. This ICE process is a revolutionary variant of the SAW welding process. This is a technique, whereby in addition to two hot wires a third cold wire is added in parallel to the weld, without using additional energy.
This third wire or Integrated Cold Electrode (ICE) generates less crystal structure deformation due to lower energy input, less flux use, ~33% energy savings and up to ~50% increased welding speed. This is with the same heat input, unchanged quality root pass and minimal welding mistakes.

That on 6 July 2015 the Tour de France caravan rode through Heist-op-den-Berg? A front-row seat for the entire event could be had on the VSE terrain. Due in part to the large TV screens, the audience there did not miss even the smallest detail of the entire spectacle. Accompanied, of course, by a bite to eat and a refreshing drink!
Yesterday evening the Excellent Enterprise 2012 in the Province of Antwerp was chosen at the Antwerp Provincial Government Building. Excellent Enterprise (Excellente Onderneming) is a competition organised by POM Antwerpen, Antwerp Management School and VOKA Antwerpen, Kempen en Mechelen.
VSE is the Excellent Enterprise 2012
VSE from Heist-op-den-Berg has won the Province of Antwerp Excellent Enterprise Prize 2012. After the district awards were handed out in Antwerp, Turnhout and Mechelen in the past months, with Gemini Corporation, DISA International and VSE as the winners, it was VSE which beat off the competition in the final and won the accolade of the provincial prize.
VSE: industrial player with a steep growth record and international ambitions.
VSE is a rapidly expanding enterprise which specialises in the repair, maintenance, hiring out and integration of welding applications. The know-how which this company has built up after 11 years of experience with repairs and maintenance is impressive and forms the basis for Integrated Projects, the division within which VSE brings together engineers and other specialists in order to realise specific customised welding applications for clients. The jury was particularly impressed by VSE’s diversified activities and customer portfolio. The jury also applauded the efforts which the company makes to train young welders.
As the provincial winner, VSE not only won an award but also a work of art by Hans Van Hees, and a Master Class training course in Organizational Performance Management at the Antwerp Management School.
Entrepreneurial province
Provincial Executive member for economic affairs Koen Helsen (Open Vld): “VSE was the worthy district winner in Mechelen. And now it has won the title of the Excellent Enterprise of the Province of Antwerp as well. This is fantastic news for the company, especially because of the stiff competition. This confirms yet again that our province has some outstanding businesses”. Eric Kessels, Director of Voka – Chamber of Commerce of Mechelen, agrees: “I am delighted by this award for VSE, its director and his employees. VSE has achieved spectacular growth in a competitive industry in a little more than 10 years. They show that paying attention to the state of the art, daring to renew and invest, entrepreneurial drive and early internationalisation are also recipes for success today. We need these kinds of businesses more than ever in Flanders.”
The two other finalists also ensured an exciting evening. The Antwerp finalist Gemini is a pioneer in the rapidly growing recycling industry. Gemini is always a step ahead of its competitors by actively putting its motto “garbage doesn’t exist” (afval bestaat niet) into practice. Gemini is looking for new waste streams and also parties for whom such waste is an excellent raw material. The jury was particular taken by the sense of entrepreneurship of this business, its strong drive towards constant optimisation and its social commitment. The Kempen candidate DISA International was equally attractive. This company is active in civil construction but more particularly in underwater pouring of concrete. In addition, DISA is involved in the maritime industry in salvaging shipwrecks, but it is also a partner in the construction and maintenance of wind farms and other offshore activities. An internal department constantly develops and tests new, specialised equipment to make all this possible. The jury was particularly impressed by DISA’s international character and exciting niche activities.
Excellent growth businesses
The “Excellent Enterprise” competition places growing businesses from the Province of Antwerp in the spotlight. Based on the conviction that hardworking, innovative entrepreneurs deserve a platform more than anyone, in the first place because of their own achievements, but also due to their exemplary function, this award has been handed out by the Antwerp Provincial Development Corporation (POM) since 2008 in cooperation with the VOKA Chambers of Commerce of Antwerp-Waasland, Mechelen and the Kempen, and the Antwerp Management School.
Businesses were invited to participate from every district on the basis of their growth figures. These were assessed on the basis of several criteria, namely ‘innovation’, ‘HR’, ‘internationalisation’ and ‘marketing’. The jury under the chairmanship of the Provincial Executive member for economic affairs and Chairman of POM Antwerpen, Koen Helsen, comprised representatives of POM Antwerpen, the VOKA Chambers of Commerce, the University of Antwerp and the Antwerp Management School.
